John Tildesley, Managing Director

In addition to all his duties as Managing Director John has the primary role in commercial activities in the business. He handles all new product enquiries and deals with large purchasing contracts, particularly energy-related. John steered the company to ISO 14001 and EMAS and is the company's main contact concerning legislation and compliance.

Nigel Smallwood, Works Manager

Nigel is primarily responsible for our Manufacturing Operations and his activities range from the initial scheduling of work through the Forge to sub-contract processes and delivery to our customers. Nigel has 30 years of forging experience in various companies in the West Midlands including 12 years at WHT.

Bruce Burden, IT manager

Bruce is our most experienced CAD Engineer and is responsible for new product design and 3-D modelling. Bruce has spent all of his working life in the design and manufacture of dies and at WHT he also manages our in-house IT systems.

Steve Reed, Quality Manager 

Steve’s primary responsibility is maintenance and continuous improvement of our BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System. A time served apprentice Steve has been an Associate Member of the Chartered Quality Institute since 1994 (formerly IQA), with qualifications ranging from a Diploma in Quality Assurance to a HNC in Engineering, and now has recently taken over the responsibility of maintaining the Enviro Certification. Steve is also a Six Sigma Blackbelt.

Chris Salt, Raw Materials Controller 

Chris, buys all materials for our manufacturing operations but his biggest responsibilty is in sourcing raw material which is WHT's biggest single cost element. Speak to Chris if you want to register on our procurement website. Chris has always worked in the Engineering sector and has been with WHT for 16 years

Sardari Lal, Process Engineer - IT

Sardari works along side Bruce and produces die designs from the CAD models. He also tests the die designs on the simulation system before commiting them to manufacture. Sadari also works closely with the forge on improvments to die performance.
